THIS PAGE LISTS RULES FOR VARIOUS CONTESTS ON RADIO STATIONS WHAI AND WPVQ. YOU MAY NEED TO SCROLL DOWN TO FIND THE RULES YOU'RE LOOKING FOR.

WHAI/WPVQ SNOWBLOWER GIVEAWAY OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

These are the rules governing the WHAI/WPVQ snowblower giveaway of January 2010. The grand prize is a Simplicity Snowblower, provided by LaBelle’s Sales and Service in Buckland, valued at approximately $1000. The contest runs from December 28^th, 2009 to February 8^th, 2010. This contest is running simultaneously on radio stations WHAI and WPVQ. Listeners from both stations will be competing for ONE grand prize.

1. There is no purchase necessary to enter.

2. To be eligible to win the snowblower, you must submit an entry to WHAI/WPVQ. Your entry must include your name, hometown, phone number, and a “guess” of exactly how many inches of snow, to the nearest quarter inch, will be on the ground outside the WHAI/WPVQ studios on February 8^th, 2010 at 10am. This is not a prediction of how much snowfall we receive during that time period, but a guess of how much snow actually remains on the ground outside our studios as of 10am, February 8^th, 2010.

3. Entries must be received no later than 5pm on Friday January 29^th, 2010.

4. Entries may be submitted by mail at 81 Woodard Rd., Greenfield Ma, 01301. Entries

can also be dropped off at that address weekdays between 8am and 5pm. Listeners may also enter through the station websites, www.whai.com, and www.bear953.com.

5. On February 8^th, 2010, at 10am, a WHAI/WPVQ staff member will measure the depth of snow, to the nearest quarter of an inch, in the yard outside our studios on Woodard Road in Greenfield. The entry with the guess closest to the actual depth of snow will be the winner.

6. In the case of a tie, (two or more entries with the same guess), the entry that arrived

FIRST at the WHAI/WPVQ studios will be the winner.

7. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.

8. The decision of the judges, regarding the actual depth of snow, and the final winner, is final.

9. In the event the winner is subject to or the subject of any order or legal process issued by any government agency having jurisdiction over the affairs of the winner (i.e. garnishment, child support order, judgement, lien, and the like), WHAI/WPVQ’s delivery of the prize to the official representative of the governmental entity claiming a right to the prize shall be deemed to be awarded to the winner. WHAI/WPVQ shall be entitled to rely, in good faith, upon any documents presented by the representative seeking to collect the prize in lieu of the winner. WHAI/WPVQ shall not be liable for any claim by winner for damages incidental thereto.

10. This contest is open to all eligible U.S. residents 18 and over. Contestants must posses a valid I.D. or other means of I.D. acceptable to WHAI/WPVQ. WHAI/WPVQ and LaBelle’s Sales & Service, their advertising agencies, affiliates, sponsors, employees, and families are not eligible to win and no substitute for prize will be awarded. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. WHAI/WPVQ reserves the right to disqualify any winner if the contest rules have been violated in any way. Contest void where prohibited. WHAI/WPVQ and LaBelle’s Sales & Service reserve the right to substitute a prize of similar value.

11. WHAI/WPVQ, Saga Communications of New England, Inc., it’s parent corporation, Saga Communications, Inc., their agencies, employees, and representatives absolve themselves and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from the snowblower giveaway or the prize awarded in said contest.

12. WHAI/WPVQ reserves the right to interrupt and/or discontinue this promotion, at the discretion of WHAI/WPVQ management, if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant. WHAI/WPVQ reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. The judge’s decision is final.

13. WHAI/WPVQ shall have no responsibility for failure to win or claim any prize based on difficulties with external circumstances.

14. No cash equivalent will be awarded. Winner is responsible for all taxes on prize awarded, and will be required to fill out the necessary tax paperwork at the WHAI/WPVQ studios prior to claiming the prize.

15. WHAI/WPVQ reserves the right to use the voice and/or picture of any and all winners for promotional, broadcast and internet purposes.

16. Only one entry allowed per person. Multiple entries will be disqualified.

These are the rules governing all contests aired on radio stations WHAI and WPVQ, owned by Saga Communications of New England.

There is never any purchase necessary to enter any contest.
To be eligible to win any prize on the station, you must not have won anything from us during the previous 30 days, or any prize valued at $600 or more during the previous year. Some station contests will have specific rules that may amend these eligibility values, and these rules will be aired on the station during said contest. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void and an alternate eligible winner may be named.
Anytime you call the station’s studios, you assume that your call will be broadcast or recorded, and you grant us permission to broadcast the call or record it for later broadcast.
As a winner of a station contest, your voice, name or picture may be used for promotional, broadcast or internet purposes.
Prizes awarded are not redeemable for cash. Prizes are not transferable. No substitution for a prize will be made at the request of the winner. The station reserves the right to substitute a prize of similar value.
Winners of contests are responsible for all taxes on prize awarded. Winners of a prize valued at $600 or more will be required to fill out the appropriate tax forms at the station prior to claiming prize.

Saga Communications shall be entitled to rely, in good faith, upon any documents presented by the representative seeking to collect the prize in lieu of the winner. The radio stations shall not be liable for any claim by any winner for damages incidental thereto.
Contests are open to all eligible U.S. residents. Contestants must possess a valid form of identification bearing the picture of the contestant acceptable to the station.
In most cases, winners will be required to claim prizes at the station’s studios, 81 Woodard Rd., Greenfield, MA, between 8am and 5pm any Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Prizes must be claimed within 30 days of winning. Prizes not claimed within 30 days will be forfeited, and may be returned to the station prize pool.
WHAI, WPVQ, Saga Communications of New England, Inc., it’s parent corporation, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees, representatives, and immediate families of each absolve themselves and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from any station contest or the prize awarded in any contest.
Employees of Saga Communications, their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, and immediate families of each are not eligible to win prizes.
As a public licensee and a trustee of the public airwaves, WHAI and WPVQ reserve the right to interrupt and/or discontinue any promotion or contest at the discretion of station management if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant. We reserve the right to amend the rules of any contest at any time. The judges decision is always final.
All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Contest is void where prohibited.
The station reserves the right to disqualify any winner if contest rules have been violated in any way.
For any contest requiring phone entry, you must only the (413) 774-6565 studio number for WHAI; (413) 773-9530 for WPVQ, unless otherwise specified. The person operating the phone at the studio has the final decision as to who is the winning caller.
WHAI shall have no responsibility for failure to win or claim any prize based on difficulties with telephone, facsimile machine, internet, or any other circumstances in any station contest.
